Abhilasha Khurana, DO

During residency, I cared for diverse patient populations across both inpatient and outpatient settings while developing specialized expertise through training in early psychosis with OnTrackNY and in a dedicated obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) clinic. 

I went on to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center where she served as chief fellow. During this fellowship, I received advanced training in family therapy and play therapy. This training was fundamental to helping me work with diverse families to develop effective treatment plans. I also completed two years of postgraduate training at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis which helped shape my psychodynamic understanding of working with children and families.

I later went on to complete a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Brown University to learn about the intersection of psychiatry and the law. I worked on civil and criminal cases in both adults and children with exposure to a large volume of cases.

I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and families. My clinical stance considers patients and families in a holistic lens with the goal of working towards an effective plan with a goal of improving quality of life for those suffering.
